I was playing with shadowmap filtering during last week. I was trying to remove noise in transition area without blur pass and here is the result.

What a nice view of the cockpit.  I love the fact that the shadows are so smooth.  Really makes you feel like you're in a real cockpit.

And Happy New Year! (I still have about 5 hours to go! :))

*Edit2* Woah, and I just noticed that the horizon indicator in the cockpit is showing the correct bank!  In-cockpit displays work now?  Did I miss this in a previous thread?!  Very cool!

Bleh, should have known that :).

Happy 011111011011 (at least I think that's right! Going to have to look it up to be certain ... it's been years since I've had to do these kinds of conversions :p)

What a new year gift. Shadows look great. Shame that a Cessna is the best thing to show it off on. We need some more, awesome stuff to have shadows on it.

Happy 2011!  Hopefully the year of the Outerra demo!   :D

Those are the most realistic shadows I have seen in real time!  I notice though that the shadow cast by the control stick seems slightly pixely.  Is that just because it's still being implemented?  Still way better than anything else I've seen.

Hey man that shadow in the cockpit is sooo inviting,  I can feel the sun on my back. It makes me want to go land in a nearby meadow to enjoy the lovely environment, you know.... listen to the birds tweeting and the insects buzzing from daisy to daisy while soaking up the sun in splendid isolation. Thing is .... its so good that I get the feeling I wouldnt be in isolation for long theyd make a virtual holiday resort of it.
