Well, thermals are turbulences due to temparature differences in the air-space, probably most felt on morning, where cold ground gets heated by summer sun making little air pockets/flows of different air-pressure get under the wing ... doe, was just once whyte a Cessna in my hand in realz. Felt just the normal turbulence (was quite shocked that they were so strong to be felt both on plane and the stick).
