« on: August 13, 2014, 02:42:27 pm »

http://www.mh-aerotools.de/airfoils/javafoil.htm

Ok this and javaprop are 2 very important fdm tools.... recently the capability to copy n paste has be removed.....

Can someone get it back, by hook or by crook...

No it works, it's just that once I've got the app to calculate the lift coefficients I'd like to be able to copy these values into the fdm..... but no copy n paste at the moment.

That's ok for getting the polars ie the shape of the airfoil/s along the wing... it's this that is entered into javafoil which calculates the coefficients for that shape..... and it's getting these values out of javafoil that's become more difficult of late with the 'greyed out' copy button

I like this information as a starter as it tells me what airfoils are used at the root and tip of the wing

http://aerospace.illinois.edu/m-selig/ads/aircraft.html

but this is not getting my javafoil fixed is it... ;)

Ok trying to explain myself clearer....

this is just a bogus wing as an example... So think of it as the part of the wing where the ailerons are and I've deflected it fully down and I need to understand how this effects the co-efficient of lift for this particular section.

I then analyze the airfoils performance at various angles of attack and reynolds numbers

I then cut-n-paste into a spreadsheet and from there into JSBsim xml file.... but as you can see the copy text is greyed out and I can no longer do this....

Can someone help me understand why ?

A dirty solution...that works to fix the copy/paste issue!

64 bit machine?   May be two versions of the policy file.   Modify both of them....
