Yeah!

Now I can accomplish my evil master plan : fill the whole planet with LIDL supermarkets  8)

(and I agree with HiFlyer, you need to rest or it will be necessary to create the first Anonymous Models Makers help group  ;D )

Levi ... i can see that steam coming out of your hands and PC from Slovakia !  ;D

Magnificent quantitative work there ... whats the final plan in the numbers ? Or you just want to import all the models from World2XPlane you get your hands on ?

I think there are about 3000 models, currently.

Now we need a way to auto-place them.

That's what I was thinking. If Outerra uses OSM (or whatever) then here is ready built library of buildings for auto-placement.........

But how will it relate them to OSM data? How will it know what building is what?  :-\

The same way X-plane 10 does, essentially. The buildings are already categorized by type.

Ya' know, the triangle count of just one or two of our current heavier buildings probably equates to just about a whole city of these........  :o

Interesting implications.

Have a look at my project for X-Plane 10 (http://www.world2xplane.com). It does quite a good job of placing the correct types of buildings using whatever data is available in X-Plane. I fully intend to create a version of this for Outerra, at least initially for placing roads and buildings automatically using the same algorithms as World2XPlane. Outerra has such huge potential and is gaining a large amount of interest from simmers, that it's worth doing
