Quick question about which is which

So under the roughness texture it says "usually negative specular map", I just wanted to be sure before I wasted a lot of time, this is a regular specular map:



and this is the negative specular map we use as the roughness texture:



Correct?

Usually it's ~OK but it's not ideal conversion every engine has different material interpretation so there will be differences to original rendering.

But on the whole, negative specs are ones with white backgrounds instead of black? I'll already be tweaking the maps for brightness. For reference, the dark patch near the centre of the top spec map is an inward facing surface that won't see much sunlight whilst the large light-grey patch above it is the top surface. Thanks.
