Addons we should consider
« on: September 16, 2014, 05:40:32 pm »

having used Unity 3d quite allot
i feel that most of the addons ive seen in Unity should be used or created for Outerra
path tools, character implementation  smoke and fire placement etc
there is so much potential for all kinds of things.
Just a thought whether it be third party or ingame.
Be nice to have an animated vehicle follow a path.

Thanks

These kinds of scripts are nothing new or exclusive to unity and honesty, unless someone works VERY HARD on a unity game, I have yet to see a viable standalone game let alone give the Outerra developers yet another engine to fiddle with, and one that requires a lot of babying at that [From what I have been observing]. I would presume a waypoint system built right into outerra using its already implemented road path creator tool would be a far easier implementation. HOWEVER. I will not say that the integration possibilities for Unity themselves are NOT a good idea, I just don't believe that relying on another engine/scripting method would be wise for an engine that already shows such standalone promise.

... would be interesting to set vehicles to drive the roads in some "AI" manner too when the road-data is globally set.
