I reinstalled drivers again and it normalized (i mean, perfomance increased comparing with what was previously). I think it resets and becomes slower after each reboot. This time I didn't update to the latest version, gonna see what will come out of this.

And it happened again. I'm not really into reinstalling drivers each time I want to run Outerra smoothly. On the advice of HiFlyer I downloaded the program and that's what it shows. Is it normal that Outerra uses all the resources of the videocard?

It's normal if you have unlocked frame rate, it's a sign of well utilized pipeline. In many programs you have low GPU utilization because it has to wait for the CPU.

Can you run some GPU benchmarks before and after this happens, to confirm that it's not a hardware issue or something? It kind of doesn't make much sense that OT would do something to the GPU/Windows that the card doesn't recover even after system restart.

I'm not saying that Outerra affects anything, I feel like after reboot something "dumps" or messes up current driver state. However, I'm not a specialist in how this system works and whether this can be possible.
By the way, now I can definitely tell that the "slowdown" occurs after restarting of the computer.

 ... could you see (trough Ctrl + Alt + Del) what processes run before and after that happens and the full list of stuff in "msconfig" both in services and startup columns ? ... i remember dealing once whyte a virus of some sort hiding itself in the system and blocking various stuff on sisters PC. Maybe there is something in there driving your PC crazy ... but yes, probably a clean system installation would clear that out much easier.

Process explorer is designed to do exactly that: It shows not only whats openly running but whats hidden as well, and allows you to kill things Task Manager sometimes Can't/Won't.

The dramatic loss of fps (so abrupt) is usually a configuration problem in the BIOS power (TDP) of the video card, you will need to set wats use your card with the power supply, especially clocks in power play .
I'm almost convinced to reinstall the system will not solve the problem. but do not know.
I think you have a technical problem,, certainly find the solution online.

I used to tweak settings in BIOS, but as for now they are all set by defaults, and it probably should set them automatically according to the hardware fine enough.
I will try reinstalling today or the other day, and will see from there what to do. Also, I googled for similar cases, but nothing revealed.

P.S. Even after windows reinstalling and usual procedure of video driver installation and reboot, gpu_lag is still jumping like crazy. There is some improvement though.

P.P.S. Actually, I didn't consider the fact that graphics work far better after reboot, but get slower after complete turning off and on. Strange...
