actually that is a little bit confusing ...I think the points are based on the IP address of the webradios (that's what they say ..under "settings" as they use free GeoIP to locate the radio stations) but IP location may not correspond to location that you hear these same stations on FM ...so the location points could be misleading...or well they just represent maybe the location of the server that streams the music....not the location of the studios or FM antennas nor the range you can recieve these stations via FM....that's the impression I have.
Im trying to achieve the same inside outerra (..and I found the way to stream webradio audio streams inside outerra
...) but the only issue that is blocking me is that while I can get a list of http adresses or IP numbers for the radiostations (or their playlist streams) when I try to geolocalize them via for instance
https://www.maxmind.com/en/geoip-demo they point to completely unexpected locations ..not even the same country and not even the same continent
something is wrong with my procedure to look up the webradios's geolocations...any suggestions are welcome
In short what is missing: a list of webradio geolocations with their associated IP numbers or http weblinks to their audiostreams
building it manually is maybe OK for a hundred or so - even if it still a lot of work - but not for the tens of thousands worldwide
unfortunately I could not find a way to "extract" all this info from the radio-garden website ...and probably its even not possible as they would be dumb not to protect this precious info
