Shadows on the bumpy grass
« on: May 11, 2011, 06:51:59 am »

A few people wanted to know how shadows look like on the new bumpy grass. So I updated my Outerra version and made a low flight over new shiny grass field and here is the result.

Cool!  Seems kind of hard to see though in the video (because of the light?)

Sweet!!!

Just think how it would be to develop some buildings, infra-structure and airports.  Do 3DStudio MAX work as an building platform in Outerra, or do you have own tools for the job?

Just think? With all that landscape and open spaces to work on, oh how one could love to play around.

Beautiful! I was also intrigued by the distant airport buildings right at the end...

Makes grass field landings a bit more fun doesn't it. Bouncing around like that.

Looks pretty nice, but the video is quite jittery.  Is it low(er) framerate or something else?

The video is smooth on my computer. Can you tell me exact time where you see jittering and are you sure it is not caused by flash player?

Yeah, it looks like it might be the flash player.  I downloaded the MP4 through Youtube to play on my computer and it played quite a bit better.  Still noticed a very small amount of stuttering though.

What??  How are the graphics not good?

Besides billboard trees Outerra has the most detailed graphics I have ever seen from a engine.
