Virus notification: screencapture_plugin.dll
« on: December 10, 2018, 09:15:01 pm »

Bitdefender doesn't like  q:\anteworld\plugins\screencapture_plugin.dll from the latest version of Anteworld. It is not alone, as you can see from the nine detections on VirusTotal: https://www.virustotal.com/#/file/fa78fc8666c4dcfcb9f00e862216848f6e9c17f233ae39877b55e85213179cc3/detection

Could somebody take a look please?

It's been a while since I last played with Outerra. Excited to see that it has water at last!

Same thing here.

Today I installed Bitdefender and I just downloaded the newest version 17.1.0.9830, it installed, but I received 2 virus notifications screencapture_plugin.dll and projectiles_plugin.dll
After login, Outerra automatically wants to update to 17.1.0.9891 but it's showing screencapture_plugin.dll and projectiles.dll errors, the files are missing because of the antivirus protection, so the update cannot be completed, hence I cannot run the program.

You can break Bitdefender while you install Outerra and then you give them free (Not scann Outerra). Myself, I scrapped Bitdefender and now works Windows Defender to my entire satisfaction.  ;)

Yes, I could break Bitdefender, but that won’t change the fact that it detected 2 viruses from download package for a product that requires payment in order to upgrade to full version.
Don’t get me wrong, the money is completely worth it, but the package shouldn’t have any viruses whatsoever, especially if you are paying for it.

Windows Defender does not give you full protection, you can read that here https://uk.pcmag.com/features/91641/does-windows-10s-security-boost-make-antivirus-obsolete

Sorry, but those are no Viruses. It must be a false positive result. Because Bitdefender are the only one with this result.

Yeah we compile the dlls directly from code and there are no viruses. Absolutely no idea what would trigger the "detection", but you can submit it to them for evaluation.

I just submitted both files and I received the following e-mail:

The file has been automatically sent to our laboratories for specialised analysis. If the file is indeed a False Positive, the detection will be removed in the next 72 hours and the modification will be implemented in the product through a Signature Update.

I'll inform you when I get an answer.

Thanks for the assist guys.

Solved! It seems Bitdefender has updated allowing both files.

@justposted should check if everything is in order.
