construction kit
« on: October 29, 2019, 06:33:49 pm »

Here is a simple still somewhat primitive construction kit that may eventually be useful to build walls ot other constructions in outerra using the scenery
editor or you can just randomly place them somewhere to represent a construction site

download from here   https://www.dropbox.com/sh/t5nqi8vueg228u1/AAC9EFRGs_kStcsGjvv8ElGxa?dl=0

The elements included are
a brick
a wood plank
a wall in two variants
a truss
a rock

Instructions

install by clicking on the self-installing construction-kit1.otx file

to access them and place them in a scenery(eventually building some construction with them using the scenery editors copy/move/rotate functions)
open scenery editor under assests search for

"brick1b"  you'll get a brick
"asse1"    you'll get a wood plank
"wall"     you'll get of course a wall, choose between stone and brick wall
"truss"    you'll get a somewhat rusted steel truss
"rock "    you'll get a rock

Happy construction !

If you like to have other elements don't hesitate to suggest 😉

Yes but its a "fantasy airport" my airports have nothing to do with reality..I know you are much better in rebuilding details of real world scenery . ..knowing that a scenery is close to the real thing makes exploring it more fun !

Anyway some things are easy to add such as fences and walls but maybe we need more elements to add to  the default buildings into something looking closer to airport buildings..maybe facades with big glass screens. For the moment probably its easier to make smaller airports...bigger airports have too much big buildings with fantastic architecture. Smaller airports have buildings more closely resembling normal buildings..Just minor additions will probably be enough to make them look like airports.

Another thing I'd like to try is add random ATC chatter to airplanes...makes flying feel so much more realistic.

Here is a a very simple set of white wall elements useful to set up a variety of things.
Among their uses it is important to note that they are useful also as "reflectors" placed behind light sources lights to increase the visibility of lights at greater distances !

the box elements contained are

 1 x 1 m x 20 cm wide
 2 x 1 m x 20 cm wide
 4 x 1 m x 20 cm wide
 8 x 1 m x 20 cm wide

download the box-set from here:

https://www.dropbox.com/sh/fepvufo7vjgx41t/AACAkiLfgmsmb_D2W0UGxQe4a?dl=0

installation: click on self-installing box-set.otx file

use: open outerra scenery editor (F7-key)

under "assets" search for
"box1x1"
"box2x1"
"box4x1"
"box8x1"

I am glad you find it useful. These are among the most simple models that you can think of in outerra and so its also very easy to add other elements. With very little knowledge of 3d modelling you can create your own elements as well. (I typically use blender..which is free)

After some quiet time here I finally want to share with you some new construction elements, specifically a set of  different tiles comprising stone, ceramic, wood, metal.

You can use them alone or together with my other building components (different boxes and wall elements) to create some nice
building facades or building interiors or other stuff.

download the tiles from here

https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1tVdO2GHP2Gn7fEtrEy_E-NEruhRowUdE?usp=sharing

Installation:
Install by clicking on the self-installing tiles.otx folder.

Use:
you will find the tiles by opening the scenery editor (press F7 key)
under assets search for "tiles". A folder comprising 9 tiles each identified by its thumbnail will appear.
drag any one of them to you scene and move/rotate with the usual editor commands.

happy construction works !

Some examples of use:
