Thank you very much Fly77. great.
The cactus is necessary in the arid lands .. this will help a lot to make us more of the landscape ...
and the palm tree is very recognizable to me
Thank you

:)

Vegetation on a local scale gives the game a more realistic opportunity, especially when you intend to recreate a certain relatively short landscape. adding a decorative cactus or a Canarian palm tree gives richness to the game. globally it is not possible but individually it is fun.
fly77 has given us a palm tree (Phoenix canariensis) ,, and in time I am sure that it will add many more things, coconut trees (Cocos nucifera) or different trees, etc. .. each one recognizable by users in your hemisphere ... in the long run recreating a landscape in itself will be a game.

Really nice !  :) You make a great use of scenery elements aWac9 ! For sure I'll be available to import more 3D vegetation into outerra . Suggestions of download links FOR SPECIFIC MODELS are welcome (preferably obj, fbx or blend)  as I import them in blender before exporting to outerra

Actually 3D plants can be used to create custom autogen,  creating them gradually around the camera location as the camera moves.

I tried it with the cactus. Below is a video made with a random cactus autogen. If I knew how to use map data such as the one below (or some of outerra's own vegetation data) I could try to use it to make
a more realistic autogen

It is a great idea, knowing how far the camera can represent the object ... is a pleasant novelty.

I created cactuses on average 100 m apart randomly, witin a range of  300 m from the camera. creating 200000 cactuses gradually as the camera moves through this "field of cactuses" ..keeping the old ones (in case one wishes to "visit" a specific cactus again). Each 5 seconds the vehicle checks which among the  200000 cactuses are within the 300 range and generates the needed ones. Seems to not have much effect on the framerate as far as I tried so far. Probably deleting older cactuses and setting them up more intelligently could make the process more efficient...but these are just random thoughts as I have no experience in all this and the idea came to me just because I knew how to make it and wanted to try. One thing I want to try though is to avoid that they grow on roads and in lakes, rivers and in the sea =D

Here I share a litle but nice 3D bush model to plant in your outerra garden.
The model is a free model from blendswap

I just modified the branch color.

Let's hope that Earth8 solves the problem of islands without color or vegetation, produced by the satellite image ... but getting to see the sand, the coconut trees in a light green color, and the blue marquise of the beaches is another potential for outerra ,, It is a beautiful landscape that has to be there, in outerra.
I cross my fingers.
It is the same piece of land but insufficient

that scenery that you see in the screenshot ..no !  But I don't know what happens if I copy those crop fields all over again and again ...maybe not close to the one I already placed but some 500-1000 m away.
Seems there is a limit of objects that can be placed in a "tile".

here's what seems the answer :)   No apparent limit for copying over and over the crop fields..and and still acceptable  effect on fps so far ...from 50-60 fps drops to 30-40 fps amid a field of several thousand mais plants ...astonishing ::)
