Weather conditions/Natural disasters (long-term)
« on: September 22, 2011, 09:46:15 am »

As we all know, weather is always different in various regions of Earth, seasons change, weather is different each day.

Why not to try to recreate weather conditions in Outerra?
They would be based on overall temperature/rainfall "heightmap", but would still be different.

Some weather states include, but are not limited to:

* sunny
* cloudy - various levels
* rainy - various levels
* storm
* fog
* snow
* hail

And maybe even disasters like:

* tornadoes
* earthquakes
* hurricanes
* tsunamis
* floods
* eruptions

Disasters are more of longer term features and don't need to be introduced early.

However, weather would be quite a major part of the game, especially when one is in cold/hot region, like Siberia or Sahara.

Neither needs to be done for initial release. But I hope they will get into Outerra engine eventually.
