In 1/144 Fast Gun, the cannons are usually fixed, they aim the guns by turning the ships.  In 1/144 Big Gun, the guns usually are in rotating turrets.  In both cases the guns are fired by compressed CO2.  And if you want to see videos, just go to YouTube and search for "model warship combat".
