Anterra - Outerra Ant Simulator
« on: October 11, 2011, 01:19:14 pm »

Another strange and uncommon idea for another game...Yea, blame me, but dont' flame...

Anterra
Ants - either black, red or brown...Neither always liked each other - that's not a surprise. But now brawling colonies of little bugs will have to join their forces, because new enemy is coming...

In Anterra, you take control of an ant colony and you are given control of all individual ants - workers, soldiers and the queen.

You have to manually build your anthill and dig tunnels, getting resources to improve your "fortress", because your enemies don't sleep - but they will also have to build their colonies.

With use of terrain destructability, one could be able to build nearly limitless anthills, able to be many meters wide (note: the character scale is really small - proportional to rest of the world - that's why it could be meters).

But ants wouldn't be the only possibility - what about bees, hoppers or these enormous singularities, like mantises?

You will see that microuniverse is no less interesting that ours!

Quite stupid and far-fetched, isn't it?
Sandbox in mini-scale, essentially.

You'd hardly need a whole planet for an ant simulator :)

Actually there are some ant colonies that span thousands of miles. :)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ant_colony

In fact the largest colonies might actually all be related in one mega-global colony! Outerra sized indeed!

Following onto what C. Shawn said, could be like an old B-movie ant simulator....'It came from the desert' ?

could be funny, instead of fighting the invasion, you are it, feeding on humans etc.... building giant ant hills...

ok, back to my coffee..    :o
