Anteworld is just a game on the Outerra engine, taking place on Earth. But we plan also a planet creator based on OT where it will be possible to create new planets.

No networking yet, but will be added.

Yes I saw more information on the splash screens of the download which answered alot of what I asked for me (but you replied before I could edit my post ;)).

Very impressive tech demo, curious as to how much the planet creator etc would be (though I'm guessing you haven't been considering that because of all the work you've been doing on the engine alone), thinking along the lines of a sci-fi mmo :)

Such a thing running on this engine would be mind-blowing.  Just think of a more realistic version of Spore, except an MMO.

BRB, brain melting...

I can honestly and wholeheartedly say that I can see Outerra becoming a very very big engine in the future, and possibly being used by some major companies. Nothing like this with this level of detail has ever been done before. The worry I have though is the lack of 3D trees and being able to place many 3D objects onto planet (for example many highly detailed 3d cities)

I can take care of the first worry..

Insane, Outerra worthy Procedurally generated random trees are coming.

Yay, I'm really impressed. :D
I hope that tree generator will be able to create any tree that exists in real world. Or maybe even bushes? ;)

Btw. will it be possible to create own tree and place it manually  or  create own tree, mark the area and generate many trees in this area?
Also very usefull would be tools to manually edit terrain height etc.

Do the trees collide now? (I noticed in the tech demo you could drive through them)

I agree, it would be really nice and useful feature.

not yet. The procedural trees can and will however. Just have to make sure a heavy enough vehicle can down them if they are small or if the truck is heavy!
