Oh, the "Almost there" was meant for the demo/alpha release really. I didn't have time to prepare content for the site, and because there's no specific game content yet, it wasn't updated yet. I should put something else there, along with the link on the demo.

There's still a lot of stuff to do on the engine side, that will take a considerable chunk of our time in coming months, but with the new importer and the model support we are also going to start adding game content as well. But, what aspect of "playing online" do you mean? A multiplayer support for driving/exploring?

Be patient, it's a lot of work trying to design the earth to scale in such detail, Keep on eye on the development screenshots forum section there's always new stuff in there. It would be nice to get just a tiny bit more news from time to time with in-progress screenshots but it's always nice to get more lol

About the trees, is it possible to generate the branches as thick curvy lines instead triangles? The branches would be more curvy this way and the performance cost for trees would be less?

Curves mean a lot more triangles.

3D curves or 2D curves it doesn't matter, in all cases they are slower than triangles and that is not the only problem of such approach...

Europe mirror is dead so I downloaded it from US slowly ><
So here are 2 mirrors on my own hosting (server in france):
http://exa.servhome.org/Anteworld-0.7.11.2982.exe (fastest)
http://exadeci.com/outerra/Anteworld-0.7.11.2982.exe
Outerra devs I can provide you an ftp account if you want to on the exadeci.com server and make a cron to sync on the other faster server if you want to

Thanks, I've replaced the dead link with http://exa.servhome.org/Anteworld-0.7.11.2982.exe
Thanks for the offer, it would be great until we get a proper hosting for it.

I didn't check the world for some time. The grass addition is great, looks very good. If there will be more height variation, it would add to the impact imo.
When are the trees comming? cant wait...:)

Normally installs to Program Files under Outerra/Anteworld. Accessible also through the start menu (All programs -> Outerra -> Anteworld)

Just kill the old process - that was a bug in the previous version. After you kill the old process, the updater will apply the patch.

Thanks for the help. It worked. And wow, moving grass...it's really gorgeous.
The only minus I see with it is that it does not "take" object shadows (only the ground does). From some angles it can look strange.
