It's ok, both of these issues will be fixed with changes to how shadows are computed in near future.

Hello,

since the Nvidia Driver update above 300(301.24 and 301.42) im unable to open Outerra or X-Plane, both are opengl based and think my issues is there. Both Games do startup, but crash within a second, they are there, but unresponsive. They allocate around 200 to 300MB of Ram and stay like that. I can supply system information and pictures if needed. Im thinking my problem is with opengl or its dependencies, however other opengl software like Minecraft open just fine.

There definitely are some issues with 301.xx Nvidia drivers. However, your problem might be related to a third party utility that hooks into the processes in order to display overlay information (such as FPS or various graphics settings changeable by a shortcut key). These utilities cannot handle OpenGL programs reliably. Are you aware of any such utility running on your system? Try going through the processes and shutting down anything non-essential to see which one it is.

You could revert your drivers to an older version. There is a debug option in eng.cfg, but I'm not sure it's going to help in this case, but you can try.
Are you getting a black screen in windowed mode as well?

I can try to play with the config a little, but is there really nothing i can do about opengl, i mean like dxdiag kinda just for opengl or even completly reinstall opengl?

301.42 (clean install), gtx460 — no problem.

You can try resetting OpenGL settings in Nvidia control panel, or do a clean install.

I dont seem to have an option for that, i would have done that already, which control panel are you referring to?
I also did a clean install, ill provide some sysinfo:

Those aren't actually errors, just debug messages, so nothing there.
Clean install would have reset the settings anyway, there's a restore button in Nvidia control panel for 3D settings, should apply to OpenGL as well.

Done. Only thing that changed: I does now actually tell me, that the program is unresponsive. Does Outerra support Nvidia Surround Desktop and SLI ?

There's normally nothing special to be done for SLI and surround, it's a driver thing. Several people have reported a couple of distinct problems with 301.xx drivers, and I have experienced one myself - sometimes the drivers get into a weird state and 3D slows down to a crawl, and only a restart helps. So I guess we can only report it to Nvidia at the moment, roll back to the older drivers and wait for an update.

Doing that right now, out of every software i have this driver is the most annoying to fiddle with. Im going to roll back to 296.xx, that fine?

Yes, 296 were fine and sufficient for OT.
