Owners of ATI 7xxx cards: Please use the beta 12.4 drivers available from here, reported to work with Outerra.

Others who have problems with ATI cards could give it a shot as well.
I reformatted my laptop last night and updated my ATI drivers to no avail; I then tried these beta drivers, (I installed them over my old ones) and I still crash after initialization.

According to the log, it's a mobility 5470 card, right? Did you use it with mobility 12.2 drivers?
Just asking since those 12.4 are desktop ones ..

For some reason when i switched back to 12.1 drivers for ati, it now works. The 12.4 beta didnt work, neither did the 12.3 or 12.2.I still get vehicles freezing in the air,but my drivers dont crash.I've only tested this out for 10-15 minutes, so i'll test it out later tonight.

Yes, I have tested it with the 12.2 mobility drivers too. At this point I'm just trying everything.

Hello! I have constantly a crash at startup. I can't launch Outerra anymore (wich makes me very very depressed, as you can think  :'( ). I removed the programm and re-installed it, without any change.

Running win7 64, q9550@3,27 ghz, Gtx 560 ti with 301.42 drivers.

I checked the list on first post (steam off, etc), but it doesn't seem to change anything...

Thanks for your amazing work  :)

Did you also remove (or move away) the data folder (C:\Users\Spatzl\Outerra\)?
Please check if there's a crash.log file.

Though when it doesn't invoke the crash handler, it probably crashes in the driver. Got any other graphics utility running that can display anything on the screens of other programs?

Thanks Cameni, deleting the outerra folder in Users did the job !  :)

But it doesn't seems to accept my login (login failed). It worked like a charm until 10 days...
I tryed to reset my password, but it didn't work either.

Thank for your support  :)

Hello again!  :)

I reinstalled the program with correct username ( ::)). All perfect. I switched to fullscreen and 1920*1080 @60 hz (native resolution of my screen) and had again this bug: Outerra crash at startup.

I then wrote in eng.cfg fullscreen: false, and all returned fine.

I tryed with other resolution with the same result: perfect in window mode, crash in fullscreen.

PS: I don't have any crash.log, in user/.../outerra, or in the program directory itself.

This really looks like there's another utility trying to fiddle with the screen. I'm currently looking at the ways of listing the utilities that hook into process, but it doesn't seem to be universally possible, especially on x64 systems.

In any case, this has to be found by trying. You could PM me your list of processes.
