3d mapping technology that scans the planet (see link)

A 3d mapping technology that maps the ground... It's called SAAB 3d mapping also known as C3 Technologies. The video explains it better. I think it was bought out by apple to map citys and other environments. This would be a great technology for Outerra. The second video is an example of a place they scanned with this technology.

Very interesting but for the cost of that data in terms of money and storage space it would seem like a light year away before we could have something like this. Although, I have been proven wrong before  ;)
