Hello.
I have an interesting idea of how to make Anteworld very interesting - add in country system!
The whole game would be on a global server that everyone connects to, where they can set up a settlement of their own anywhere on Earth.
Later on, they can ally with nearby settlements, eventually forming a country!
Once you get enough people playing, the game then comes to life.
Sounds like a great idea, but the question is - is it possible to make?

Actually that's one of the planned features :)

Initially to show maps of how the nationalities, countries and other types of affiliation are distributed over the world. Later to find out how a new world order might look like and evolve as a part of the gameplay.

What's going to make this awesome is that it's not going to be a top down RTS, but a fully 3D extra high detailed rendered world that is fully interactive.

many games of that nature exist, from simcountry, simcity, sims, and so on?

what would set outerra would be to keep the 1:1 scale. let user build their world on this scale, just provide the engine for it. do what word processing software has done, which is to allow lots of people to publish their own books, magazines, and so on. this outerra should have the potential for engineers to do their structures, for animators to create their characters, for gamers to build their games, for social networkers to build their virtual worlds, and so on...
