Speed of light & holding the w,a,s,d,f,and r keys down
« on: August 23, 2013, 03:01:27 am »

Hi, guys!

I got an idea! Instead of holding the w,a,s,d,f, and r keys down to move the UFO, let's make the w,a,s,d,f, and r keys increase/decrease the UFO velocity going up/down,forward/backward,left/right with each key press 1 m/s, 3 m/s ect and instead of velocity stop increasing at 200,000 m/s let's change that to 299,792,500 m/s or 299,792.5 km/s. Thanks!

         Cheers,
       Vincent

You can change the speed by rotating the mouse wheel.

The point of limiting the velocity was

A) Show off the scale of the world by forcing users to actually travel. (just wait until the official game and you can only travel as fast as you ACTUALLY can travel)

B) To limit the abuse on the data servers.

Hi, necro!

Okay, got it! How do I use the mouse wheel to hold at the constant velocity like 50,000 m/s or 100,000 m/s? Do I have to hit a key to use the mouse wheel to increase velocity and let go of the mouse wheel and the velocity will hold? Thanks!

Oh i dont know. I just know, that the velocity is increasing by the distance to the earth. It have to be logarithmical.
