« on: May 26, 2013, 09:18:07 pm »

i imported a house today for a test. got all textures in fine. but when i move through the house, walls and floor seem to flash in and out, there one second, then gone! turn the cam and it comes back! any idea why this happens or a fix? thanks

This is called "culling". The renderer just render polygons, which are visible by the camera. I guess the wall of your house has too less polygons. Just increase the polygone count a bit. Via loopcuts.

Could you post a screenshot with the wireframed model?

hi thanks for the reply. i thought it may be culling. in cryengine there was a setting to adjust it. guess thats not in the config yet to play with! never mind, we dont have collision yet so not really bothered at this time, was just a test! :)

anyway yes my model is very low poly, made that way so i could have lots houses within a few blocks and not push poly count through the roof! :) not worked on lods yet!

so heres a wireframe and a shot of it in outerra! ;)

I'm sure its the lowpoly. Add some loopcuts and everything will be better culled.

The cryengine affords more comfortable features which doesnt fit in outerra or arent implemented yet. I guess the culling logic of outerra is more complex so its fine now and doesnt need any avoidable features. Even with the supported LoD model ;) As you said this should be one of the lower level.
