Esta semana hemos tenido una magnífica noticia: la agencia regualdora estadounidense FDA, ha aprobado el primer medicamento basado en CRISPR/Cas9, la herramienta que permite llevar a cabo una 'edición genética'. El fármaco ha recibido luz verde para corregir la alteración en el ADN que provoca la enfermedad de células falciformes, un trastorno hematológico.(es una enfermedad genética horrible y los enfermos llevan siempre con ellos dosis de morfína, ya que el dolor es insoportable).
Me hace ilusión comentarlo,, hace ya unos cuantos años dijimos aquí en esta casa, que CRISPR, sería el avance más increíble de la humanidad en los próximos años (ingeniería genética).. y así ha sido.. Hago referencia a esta noticia, porque en su día edité un vídeo del origen del término CRISPR, que hacía referencia sobre el trabajo científico del español Francis Mógica .(Málaga).
Bueno hoy no vamos a repetir el vídeo, pero pondremos otro,, ahora ando por el norte ártico.. así que una de papanoel.
