I just got home for the weekend and tried out a little OT ... there i mentioned, that my elderly placed dirt roads have the surrounding terrain color ... they do not have their own textures like the asphalt texture ? (on the GTX 275 machine)
Looks kinda funny doe.

They have their own texture, but some time back I apparently set them to the base dirt and forgot about it ... will have to revert and check the normal maps and other stuff there.

In the future, I would imagine the colour of the roads should be taken from the underlying rock colour data?
