tried to make a window in blender but came out red
used gimp for the dds file
can anybody explain the settings to me from blender onwards
tried doing it according to the wiki but must have done something wrong

there has to be a separate material for that window, otherwise, just the .mtbl file settings affect the outcome - know there were a good post some time ago whyte a fence somewhere ...

Detach the window from the mesh and make it its own mesh, though still grouped with the other meshes for the model. Then in the MTL file you can set its transparency and don't have to worry about layers and such.

it is a seperate mesh and i named it glass
just not sure how to change it in the mat file

top line of the mtl segments. The bolded is the transparency setting. 1.0 =opaque, 0.1=barely there.
