filenames being truncated?

I was just playing around importing some different models and it seems that the .objdef and .matlib filenames get truncated at 31 characters but the .impcfg, .pkg and .txt files get the complete string?

I'm also getting some error messages in-game where files are not loading because the path string is being truncated?

I also have question about the materials? The wiki says: "Ax - material reflectance (fresnel f0 coeficient) common materials have values around 0.04". Yet the default value when importing an object seems to be 7? Similarly it says, "m- roughness, 0 = mirror, 1 = matte material" yet the default value is 127?
