Unable to Rotate near surface in UFO cam
« on: July 01, 2013, 03:49:32 am »

While in UFO camera mode I noticed I'm unable to roll near the surface.
Is there an option to allow that?

While flying through the stratosphere holding Q or R allows the camera to roll/rotate. Yet as you get closer to the earth the camera suddenly snaps into level viewing.

This engine/game is delivering the closest feeling of being Superman any game has ever done except being able to roll while near the surface. At least I'm able to easily replicate the iconic near orbit towards the rising sun. hehe

If you want a manual roll control, press the "Toggle auto roll ctrl" key (as configured in the ufo control settings).

Thank you for the quick reply, That works really well.

Can't wait to see what the future holds for the Engine and game. I'm sad to say I've only just recently found Outerra, but I'm glad I did. Been enjoying my time just cruising around the Earth.

I did notice while in Flight mode, quick mouse movements caused the UFOs direction to get "stuck" and bounce until I stopped the mouse movement. I'm assuming it's a hard limit put in place to stop uncontrolled spirals?

There are some limits on the movement speed to make the flight mode smoother. But I think there is also a bug in the control code resulting sometimes in odd movements, a side effect of those limits and auto-corrections.
