Quick question regarding Outerra

1. Can you create your own textures for this Engine? Then import them?

Hi Jonathan,

Back in the days, KelvinR made a bunch of custom textures, unfortunately these are not compatible anymore. Terrain texture are dds files you can find here:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Outerra\Anteworld\textures (standard install). That said, not easy to modify since there is not just one texture per ground type, rather 4 (normal, albedo,... etc.)

speaking of textures... is there a way to create a snow-covered environment? I notice that even in the far north, if I set the date to mid-winter, the trees still have leaves and there is no snow on the ground (except in the mountains)

This is something that was not finished yet. The snow line is supposed to be dynamic, depending on the season. However, right now it requires terrain rebuild and we want it to be automatic and perhaps gradual.

Cool! Knowing it's in the plan is enough for me! Until then, for my purposes, video editors can do what I need.
