Updated drivers, still won't work.
« on: March 08, 2012, 10:48:22 pm »

My graphics card is Nvidia GeForce 520M and I updated the drivers and I'm still getting the "OpenGL 3.3 create vtx buffer failed" error.

What do?

So many laptop users...  :P  I wonder if we're having more/new problems with mobile graphics cards.

Not as easy as that. The whole engine REQUIRES OpenGL 3.3 compatibility. And most onboard graphics including anything intel powered simply will not work. The game is in such an early state that by the time it is out of beta every piece of hardware being used right now will have been made obsolete by time alone.

Well if it is in fact a GT 520M, it should support OpenGL 3.3 (and newer versions).

I don't know where to download OpenGL 3.3. I tried the opengl site but couldn't find a DL link.

You need to assign correct profile for outerra.exe so it can run with Nvidia drivers instead of the integrated Intel chip. It should be somewhere in context menu when right-clicking on the exe, or in Nvidia control panel.

If it doesn't work, you have an old graphics driver. Got to Nvidia site and download driver update for your card. OpenGL driver is part of the graphics drivers, it's not downloaded separately.

I've actually been on 296.17 for like a week now because suddenly Windows 8 started throwing new Nvidia drivers at me that weren't even on the website yet (not even the beta).  296.17 was just put on there today.
