Mountain rock faces - texture colouring
« on: April 08, 2012, 06:56:23 pm »

Hi Devs,

It looks like the colouring of the mountain rock textures are a little too light. In real life, at least in New Zealand, they are more of a darker gray. See my attached comparison from real vs OT mountain rock faces.

I maybe a little premature as i'm sure you guys will be working to get the many texture types in OT but I thought I would mention this as i'm a perfectionist at heart.

From what I understand the devs plan to implement something called "Blue Marble Data" which I think is just a color pallet of the entire earth derived from satellite photos. It will show better snow lines and get the desert dirt all the right colors.

Ok, I did hear of Blue Marble Data here somewhere. I am very interested to see how this works. I hope to see some early screenshots of this sometime soon.
