Did you try normal Windows driver uninstall, restarting and then install the drivers again?

You can try this:
1) uninstall drivers with ati installer
2) in device manager right-click on the graphics adapter and select "uninstall"
3) reboot
4) dont install anything, you can try aticleaner and/or CCcleaner
5) reboot
6) install new driver and pray :-)

Tried uninstalling drivers the traditional way - no cigar.

After this last build I cannot get into the game. It updated it and then when I clicked on "login" it opens the "checking for new version" window and hangs there indefinately. So I can't get into Outerra now. :\
Any fixes for this issue? Is it a known issue or is it just me?
Thanks for your help guys.

PS: oh yea, I have an ATI gpu.

If it's the shader compilation issue with older AMD drivers, two things will help: either updating the drivers to a recent version, or applying this patch:
Anteworld-0.8.0.4152.patch-4271

If neither helps, please post eng.log

OK, I went and updated the drivers just now and it managed to download that 4271 patch. Before I updated GPU drivers it just hung there indefinately. I did see some OpenGL or CL error but it disappeared so fast I couldn't read it all the way.
Anyway it works now after I've updated drivers. And thanks for your fast reply Cameni, it's really appreciated even tho I figured it's the drivers myself xD

Thanks again, now to test the new build :3

Forests are now computed from vegetation maps, which try to match the real world coverage, but it's not yet working reliably. But also, if you previously were in a desert or a land with naturally sparse vegetation, it will now have sparse vegetation as well.

The forest adjustment (in env settings) do not currently work in this version, but they will be used to adjust the vegetation coefficients, together with the trees.

hey :) thanks for fast answer.  i need to explain better i think. there are shadows, you can see where they should be but they are just missing. it also lags the performance out like its making an error where they should be. i flew over some massive forests and u can see them from space.. when you zoom in they are not there.. but the lighting effect is.. i'm updating my drivers at the moment. may help.. but they were perfect before i upgraded

Hi. First off - I'm a completely new registered user and started playing Outerra only recently (actually today). If I'm not mistaken, I've heard about this engine one month ago, so hello to all and Marry Christmas. But let me turn to my problem/issue/bug(?).

My PC:
- Motherboard: MSI B85-G41 PC Mate
- Processor: Pentium G3420 (Haswell)
- RAM: Crucial 4GB 1600MHz DDR3 4 GB RAM
- GPU: Intel HD Graphics (integrated on processor)
- Systems: Windows Server 2008 Datacenter (testing for 180 days) and Windows 7 Ultimate

And the problem:

That's how Europe (continent) looks like:

As you can see, there's the same texture everywhere. I've downloaded the very latest drivers from the MSI website and tested the game at both systems (Server and Win7) - the problem still occurs.

Wow. you have a problem. You are going to be asked by the creators to attach your "eng.log" to the post. It should sit in the games root dir.

It's a bug in older Intel OpenGL drivers. I'm not sure the fixed drivers were actually released publicly (we are working with beta drivers provided by Intel), but I noticed your drivers aren't the most recent ones - you have version 10.18.10.3277, but there's already a newer public version 10.18.10.3345

I think new drivers resolved this bug in... approximately 50%, because now I can see normal textures from a great height, but if I look closer at them, I see:

The very next .log file has been added to the attachment.
