Nice.

Now I see mud can be rendered like water but with non-translucent texture. And the vehicle simulation would receive information about submersion in mud for separate wheels ..

Is that a game or some kind of simulator?

It's a vehicle simulator with special soft-body physics, rigsofrods.com (RoR).
It allows for pretty accurate simulation (given the physics of a model is right) and deformations.
The physics is quite demanding, though, and so RoR is very CPU intense.

For a CPU intensive sim, i don't know why it does not support a quad core cpu......

Finally got this thing to work, its pretty fun simulation once you get used to the terrible controls and UI.
Also lack of support for quadcore.

Has anyone gotten the Large Antonov plane with six engines airborne?

Mine just wont do it, and only 4 of the 6 engines can be turned on! There is no controls for the other 2.

Also is there a way to get back to the main menu without having to exit out of the program every time?

This wont run in windowed mode for some reason..

The UI can be changed in the Configurator, or the actual HUD has an add-on like in Dajoun's screenshots.

Also lack of support for quadcore.

We did have it at some point, but it was buggy, so it was removed.

As in real life, you need a long runway for the biggest plane in the world. Try hitting "2" for the flaps to go down.

The game (for now) only supports four engines on an airplane. This is likely to vary in the future.

Has been talked about, but not being developed yet.

It may be a bug.

Actually, you can use all engines, by pressing Ctrl + Home ;).

To all people, who don't know, what Rigs of Rods is, here is a good sample video:

Permitted by Cameni:

Small demonstration of

Vehicle Physics in Rigs of Rods

Body mesh by ddracer@tatraportal, wheelmesh with permission of cameni@outerra

This is a WIP project.
All meshes reworkrd and refined, textures not final yet, shading not final yet, some meshparts still missing.
But it already features the full physics characteristics of the original Tatra T813, well...as far i could reproduce it from videos on the net.

Spawning this truck with our absolute minimum gfx settings onan empty square map:

http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/97/800997/3838656230663063.jpg

Disabling the visualbeams, truckl still running -> smoke and checking for FPS:

http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/97/800997/3063373739613461.jpg

~300 FPS- if i could disable the rest of the gfx it would be more then 600fps btw.
Running on one 2.4 Ghz core only, a very complex and detailed truck with aprox 400 nodes and 3000 beams for physics simulation, collision checking not turned off btw.
I do not think, that our physics or collisionchecks are really cpu hungry..they are extreme efficent.
Our problem is the terrain visualisation and environment stuff, thats where Rigs of Rods burns its resources.

Hrm. I wonder if Cameni AngryPig has thought about exhaust for the outerra tatra. With his particle system it probably could be the most realistic fume to ever grace a computer screen. Instead of the fake puff and remove of all other games.

Just a thought.

Lifter, I thought you'd be using our modification of the model.
Here it is if anyone else is interested Tatra T813 Model (3DS). Original by drracer (tatraportal.com)

Actually particle system is Angrypig's responsibility .. but effects will come only later.

Actual i started with your model cameni, but when i posted it in our internal forum part i got notified, that already one of our invited was working on the T813 with the original mesh by drracer@tatraportal.
Since he already spent a lot of work in cleaning up, uv mapping and adding edgesplitmodifiers we decided to continue together on his project, me doing the physics and he meshi refining and texturing, so the only part of your modifications to the original mesh that are left are the wheels. They are credited in the truck file to you as the author.
