Outerra isn't using DirectX.

Yup. We all know that. But its still interesting to watch the advancements being made, especially as we begin to see more examples of real performance advantages from the emerging next-gen API's.

Edit: Seems to me that all that "writing to the hardware" while offering some advantages, will also offer difficulties in making efficient use of multiple threads.

Wow. It's the first time I've ever seen no posts on the forum for straight one day. Come on guys, where are usual progress reports on aircraft aerodynamics, or maybe thoughts about next update, or just some lovely screenshots!

Sometimes, you just unfold your chair, put on a warm coat, take that shiny metal thing on ya and ...

... we need a chair like that in OT and a sitting animation n coat mod for the mercenary.

Nothing we have in Outerra combines this planes raw combination of power and maneuverability, but I have hopes of one day having this sheer freedom in motion one day to spin across the Anteworld sky. Especially what happens at 3:15  =D

Took me a while to figure out if it was real footage or a game. I really like the movement of the camera. Feels quite realistic.

Anyone remember the demoscene? Heres a tightly coded goodie from back in the day, and the whole program is 4kb  :)

Procedural powah!

Have you played this?

I played many years ago, and could not believe this was 97 kb.
